Walking Back in Time in Tunis

As I sit on this flight from Tunis to Djerba, reflecting on my time in Tunis, I am filled with a mix of emotions. Tunis was more than just a destination; it was an experience that touched me deeply. From the ancient ruins of Carthage to the bustling streets of the city, every moment felt significant, as if I were connecting with a part of myself from a distant past.

Walking through the ruins of Carthage, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by a sense of awe and reverence. Tears welled up in my eyes, almost instinctively, as I soaked in the beauty and history surrounding me. It was as though I had stumbled upon a place where time stood still, where the echoes of ancient civilizations whispered secrets of the past.

Yet, amidst the grandeur and beauty, I couldn't ignore the weight of the cultural restrictions that loomed over me. As a woman, I felt the constraints of a society that dictated how I should dress and behave. It was a sobering realization, a reminder of the preciousness of freedom and the importance of cherishing it.

However, amidst these restrictions, I found moments of genuine kindness and connection. Meeting a Tunisian-Moroccan traveler and his uncle who offered me rides and showed me hidden gems like Sidi Bou Said was a reminder that kindness knows no boundaries. Sidi Bou Said, with its azure buildings and breathtaking views, felt like a sanctuary of peace and beauty.

As I journeyed through Tunisia, I couldn't shake off the contrast between the cultural constraints and the warmth of the people I encountered. It left me pondering the essence of freedom and happiness. I realized that true joy lies in being able to live authentically, without the weight of societal expectations.

Amidst these reflections, my thoughts turned to my work situation back home. The negativity and suffocation I felt were undeniable, pushing me to seek a change. I longed for a work environment where joy and positivity were valued, and where people could thrive and make a meaningful impact together.

In envisioning this ideal workplace, I saw myself not just as an employee, but as a leader fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment. I believe in the transformative power of happiness and the potential for greater productivity when people feel valued and heard.

Leaving Carthage, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and determination. My journey had been more than just a holiday; it had been a soul-stirring experience that awakened me to the possibilities of a life lived with joy and authenticity.

As I prepare to land in the Sahara desert, I know that the journey ahead may be filled with challenges, but I am ready to embrace them with open arms. For in the heart of every challenge lies an opportunity for growth and transformation.
