I Visited a Place I Lived 3000 Years Ago

Today I visited a place I used to live around 3000 years ago

A place I had reincarnated in a past lifetime and through the magic of life, I somehow found it. It was one of the most touching moments of my life. If you don’t believe in reincarnation, totally fine. You are welcome to stick around just for the story below :).

As I stepped off the ferry and onto the sandy shore of Elafonisos, I stared out into the clear blue waters between the island and the mainland into what used to be Pavlopetri. Immediately, this warm loving feeling entered my body and collided with my heart as tears began to stream down my face. I did not expect such a powerful feeling right away, just by stepping off of the boat. I hadn’t even visited Pavlopetri yet, the city underwater, the reason I came to Greece.

I didn’t know what to expect, actually. Would I have a vision? Dreams? Have any emotions? Or maybe I would feel nothing at all. But this powerful experience was beyond anything I expected and a confirmation that this is where I was supposed to be. I sunk into the moment and took it all in. It felt like I could stare out at the waters for hours. Afterwards, I headed to my hotel and dropped off my belongings and prepared for the following day when where I would actually visit Pavlopetri, a city I used to live in around 3000 years ago before it submerged underwater.

I Used to Dream of This Place

When I was a child, from the ages of 8-10 years old, I would have dreams of living and walking around in this village. There were white walls, stone houses, and narrow streets carved throughout the town. I would be walking or running around through the streets of this small, but bustling town. However, my dreams would always be interrupted, as I would see a massive tidal wave hovering over the city, eventually crashing over me and I would wake up. The nightmares continued for years but I never thought anything of it. As humans, we obviously have millions of dreams and they don't always mean anything right?

It was several years later, in my 20's, after going through a difficult and confusing heart break and I needed answers that I came across a psychic medium. For those of you who don't know, a psychic medium is similar to a psychic where they can provide readings on past, present, and future. The differences is a medium does this through connecting with other beings such as your past loved ones, angels, or ascended masters (which we can all also do! But that is for a different post). I told her that I needed to know about my past lives and anything else that came up. I received many great insights on my life and future, but she said a few stories which stuck with me one.

She mentioned that in one of my past lives, I passed away very young. I was young, but still aware enough to comprehend what was going on, and predicted I was around 10 years old. It was somewhere in the Mediterranean, she described when a series of earthquakes created a huge tidal wave in the area that submerged the whole city. No one survived, including me. At the time, it didn’t really connect with me until I remembered my dreams!

Is that why I had all of those dreams during those my childhood of running from the tidal wave? I am also deathly afraid of swimming! My parents even put me in classes when I was young, my friends tried to teach me (bless their hearts), but I would always freeze and I could never do it. I even have trouble putting my face fully under water in the shower or wash my face. I always make space for my nose. Could this be why? Had I had drowned in a past life and carried that trauma over now?

I had to find out and figure out where this place was. As soon as I got home, I googled "underwater cities around the world." The results came up with several cities around the world, some in the Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, and then there were about 2-3 in the Mediterranean. I read about them and came across Pavlopetri. A city that went underwater around 1000BC due to earthquakes causing a title wave that wiped out the entire city. Was this a coincidence? I was getting warmer.

I continued to search and I came across a BBC documentary called “City Beneath the Waves”. The documentary followed British archeologist as they came across a city underground in the ’80s. They described a fully enact town with churches, homes, streets, grave yards. Since the city was underwater all of these years many parts of it are intact and preserved as they were years ago this provided great insights to archeologist on how people lived during the Mycenaean and Bronze age. Unlike other ancient cities like Athens and Rome that were built upon throughout the centuries, Pavlopetri is one of the only places you can get a true glimpse into the story of ancient Greece.

Then, through various models and imaging, they were able to create a 3D view of what the city looked like. As the video prompted a model of the city, I gasped. I couldn't believe it. These were the exact walls from the dreams! It was the exact place I was running when the tidal wave approached. The walls, the pathways, everything was the same. I got the chills. I couldn't believe. I found the location and I had to visit. I had to see how I would feel when I got there, and what it would be like.

Years Later I Decide to Visit

More than five years later, I finally made the trek out to Greece, on my own, for this spiritual adventure. Still not sure if I would feel anything at all or if I had even picked the right place. But what I got was so much more than I ever imagined and expected.

The next day, I headed to visit Pavlopetri. The cute little lady who owned the hotel called up one of her friends who owned a small boat and agreed to take me to Pavlopetri. We set out on the boat and went over the waters of Pavlopetri. You can only see the tip of it now, a few meters floating above the waters where there are barely ruins of an ancient building. The water is so clear you can make out parts of the city from the top in certain areas. If you are feeling adventurous enough you can even scuba dive down to the sites. Going above the waters was a surreal experience. I thought of life would have been like living here. What was I like as a child? What would it have been like had the city survived? I asked the boat driver to stop as we got close, so I can take it in.

It was an indescribable experience. I felt like my past, present and future experience connected as one in my heart and throughout my body. I felt connected to my entire soul experience. Even though I didn't know anyone in this place, I didn't speak their language, and my family was thousands of miles away, I felt like I was at home. It is where I was meant to be in that moment. I didn't want to leave. I still wish I could be there. I get tears in my eyes just thinking of it. I feel lucky to have so many clues and insights that led me to a place where I lived in a past life. It helped me understand myself and my life better. It was such a sweet and healing moment and I feel so blessed to experience it.

Would You Like to Visit a Place You Reincarnated?

I hope that everyone gets to experience a moment like this. There were so many things that led up to it, but here are some of my tips and advice to help you.

  • Listen to your dreams - if you have reoccurring dreams they could mean something. Try to journal about it to get more insights. Sometimes our dreams can give us a glimpse into our subconscious which holds clues to our past and future. A lot of people keep a dream journal and write their dreams after they wake up. This is a good habit.

  • Follow your intuition - often times we know the answers deep within but we are conditioned to disregard them as a random thought. If you have a thought or vision that comes up for you, a gut feeling, or just knowing something is true, follow it, it can be your intuition speaking. Let your intuition guide you and trust what it is saying.

  • Healing the past - If you have re-occurring nightmares or feel stuck with the same situation happening in your dreams over again, it may be a clue that you need to heal something in your life, past or present. If you have these deep fears where you don't know where they came from, it could be from something from your past life that you are being called to heal now. Journaling, can help this and if you feel like you need extra help, reiki healing or past life regression therapy is also helpful (but a lot more expensive). I have helped clients heal blocks from a past life that was preventing them from moving on in their career or love life. So if you have any questions or would like any healings from me let me know. It works across distance so you can still schedule a session with me, even if you are far away. I am always happy to help :)

  • Follow your heart - if you are guided to visit a place and you don't know why but you get emotional just thinking of it. Just go! I have dreamed of going to Greece my entire life and it was a dream come true and I got so much more out of it than just a fun vacation. It might not even be a past life but a place that will make your heart happy. I will share more on my solo travels as well on a new blog. Stay tuned!

Remember you are infinite, your soul is beyond this lifetime and others. You are perfect, amazing, and a loving being. We become so attached to our bodies and our current moment we forget the expansiveness of our soul selves.

If you want to see where my hometown used to be, I've included a link to the BBC documentary: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b015yh6f . It is a pretty interesting documentary to watch anyways if you are into that!

I hope we all get to experience the wonderful magic and wonder of life.
